Mount Karimui, Eastern Highlands province July 2016

We were at Karimui from 18th – 21st July, we explored up to 2050 meters. We based ourselves in a small wooden house at 1060 metres overlooking some gardens on the edge of the forest. Of course the highlight was rediscovering Karimui Owlet-nightjar but several other good species were found like Spotted Berrypecker, Mountain Owlet-nightjar, Josephine’s Lorikeet, Black Pitohui and Spot-breasted Meliphaga
