Lesser-spotted Woodpeckers breeding June 2016

During the first two weeks of June I was able to make almost daily visits to the breeding Lesser-spotted Woodpeckers at Santon Downham. The first chick finally fledged at 0515 on 15th June with the other two following a while later. Unfortunately my camera was fogged up on the fledging day after getting caught in a huge thunderstorm the day before so the photos are a bit milky on that day. Luckily on most previous visits the sun was shining and the parents kept the chicks well fed with a constant supply of Mayflies and Banded Demoiselles. This is the first breeding here since 2013 as the female had been single since then, I discovered the female displaying with a male in the early spring.
